Maggie Smith , award winning poet, reminds is to accept the joy that appears, whenever and however.
I am grateful for this reminder as the long days and months of the pandemic drag on. Are you familiar with Maggie Smith? She posts a stream of cheery niblets on her Instagram page #maggiesmithpoet. Her new book is out, Keep Moving: Notes on Loss, Creativity, and Change. I need to get my hands on a copy. (This is not an endorsement, I just love her work.) Normally a voracious reader, I cannot seem to sit to get through long tomes these days, so her one page poems and thoughts are a real gift.
On this cold, gray autumn day I will turn on my favorite tunes, pull out my brightness paints, and lose myself in painting a new reality.
All hours cannot, of course, be joyous, so the brief moments shine all the brighter and lift us up and over the muddy puddles of life.
What are you doing to stay motivated during this difficult time?
I'm thinking about you.
Stay safe. Be well.
