Art
I seek what I call the visual ticklish spot.
A place where color and light play with the human spirit.
Abstraction takes me to a place that is fantastically free
and happily unexpected. Figures at times assert themselves and are not eschewed. No one is turned away at the door, and all pieces play a part in the process.

Artist Bio
Sheree Wood is a self-taught contemporary painter whose inspiration comes from the translucency of light. She makes color-driven acrylic and oil paintings that explore the way color permeates the psyche using varying levels of abstraction. She enjoys creating images that have a sense of mystery.
Born in Iowa, Wood has lived and studied in Wisconsin, Europe, and South America. She now splits her time between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Tucson, Arizona. Her process is a synesthetic experience, merging color, movement, memory, and even sound.
Wood works in her Tucson art studio, Studio South, in the fall, winter, and spring months. Summers are spent with her husband and family near the shore of Lake Michigan, where she works from Studio North.
