Sheree Wood is a contemporary painter who finds inspiration in the natural world. She uses photography to document her daily research then, in the studio, moves toward the intuitive. She merges the representational and the abstract on canvas, allowing creativity and imagination to determine the ultimate outcome of the picture.

Born in Ames, Iowa, Wood studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin, La Universidad Complutense (Madrid, Spain), La Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

Currently she lives in Milwaukee, WI and Tucson, AZ, with studios in both the desert and near the shore of Lake Michigan.
